Custom Polo Shirts

The polo you choose matters more than almost any other decision here, because it’s the thing people judge by feel. There are really three families, and each one suits a different job.

Performance (poly or poly blend) is what we put most Arizona crews in. It wicks, it dries fast, it doesn’t hold a wrinkle, and it still looks sharp at 4pm in July. Cotton pique is the classic country-club look — heavier, more structured, and the most “traditional” feeling of the three, though it takes heat harder. Blends split the difference and are the safe pick when you’re outfitting a mixed group and don’t know who’s inside and who’s outside.

If you’re not sure, tell us where the shirts get worn and how often they get washed and we’ll narrow it to two options. We’ll also happily send a sample before you commit a whole staff to a fabric — that’s a normal request, not a hassle.

The default for a company polo is a left-chest logo, about 3 to 4 inches wide. It’s the placement that reads as professional rather than promotional, and it works on every cut and size without redrawing anything.

After that, the useful additions are a right-chest or sleeve mark for a second logo, a partner brand, or a certification, and names — either stitched under the logo or on the opposite chest. Names are the single easiest upgrade to a staff polo: they cost little, and customers respond to a name they can read.

Embroidery handles clean marks beautifully and struggles with the same things every time — hairline strokes, tiny text under about a quarter inch, and gradients. If your logo has those, we’ll simplify it for the stitch and show you the sew-out before we run the order, so nothing surprises you on 40 shirts.

Men’s and women’s cuts mix and match inside a package, so a crew of 24 is 24 pieces however it splits across the two. Each package covers a left-chest logo up to about 12,000 stitches, which is most logos at 3 to 4 inches; a dense or heavily-lettered one runs past it and we’ll tell you before you order, not after.

Embroidery is priced by the stitch count of your logo, not by how many shirts you buy — so unlike screen printing, the per-piece number stays fairly flat once you’re past the package tiers.

Digitizing is the one-time step where your logo is converted into a stitch file. It’s inside the package prices above, and it’s free through a company store or on any bulk order that meets our minimums — so on most orders you never see it as a line. A lot of shops bill it as its own line regardless, so when you’re comparing quotes, add their setup charge back in before you decide which one is cheaper. A $19 polo with a $75 setup on a 24-piece run is really a $22 polo.

The honest lever on price is the garment, not the stitching. If a quote is coming in higher than you hoped, we’ll show you the same logo on a less expensive blank rather than quietly thinning the embroidery.

A one-time embroidery run starts at 12 pieces, which covers most departments. The harder problem is the person who starts in March after you’ve already ordered.

That’s what an online company store solves: your approved polos, your logo, and your thread colors sit at a private link, and anyone can order their own size with no minimum at all.
